Good cultivation techniques for good water-quality

2012 November 30, The Swedish website "Greppa Näringen" (www.greppa.nu) and Mr. Markus Hoffman wrote about a German scientist who had evaluate how nitrogen and phosphorus loss can be reduced, if farmers begin to use the best available technologies ("best management practice" (BMP)). Four measures were estimated, among others an action plan for plant nutriment.

The calculations indicate a great result, almost in line with the Water Directives. The observed inland water, called Kielstau, in northern Germany, is similar to the inland waters in Skåne, Sweden.
