The foundation was established by Mr. Björn Carlson through the single largest private donation, 500 million SEK, ever made in Sweden.

 

The assets of the foundation will finance projects that are creative, innovative and improve knowledge of the Baltic Sea.

 

The capital will be used continuously until 2020, hence the name of the foundation. Since the establishement of the foundation in 2005 and from where the work begun in 2006 over 65MSEK has been granted for over 30 projects.
